Broadway Dreams is a musical performance based on the
very famous musicals staged on Broadway with great success
and are known by people all over the world. Songs from
musicals such as Chicago, Cabaret, Hello Dolly, Les
Mesirables Sound of Music, Mamma Mia, Chorus Line, High
Society and X"Mass songs will be heard. A band
of eight excellent musicians and five singer soloists
from London's West End will present this concert.

The Soloists of the Russian Orchestra of Kremlin and
the Cyprus State
Orchestra It is very important for the State Orchestra
of Cyprus to work with an orchestra with the validity
and reputation of the Kremlin Presidential Orchestra.
If one considers the great history of a Russian orchestra,
then one might realize how great the benefit would be
for the comparatively very young in age orchestra of
Cyprus. This 'evening' is also very important because
of the theme they chose, a dedication to this wonderful
aspect of music, called 'the waltz'. Seventy musicians
under the direction of conductors, Pavel Ovsyannikov
of the Presidential Orchestra, and Maciej Zoltowski,
promise to give the audiences of Cyprus a concert that
will leave its' mark on our country's music events.

This performance is a dedication to the unforgettable
songs from the international and Greek cinema. Composer
Savvas Savva, is in charge of the orchestration and
he is also the artistic director and conductor of this
show. The songs will be performed by Lia Vissi and Margarita
Zorbala. Projection of scenes from different movies
will 'interfere'
between songs, to enrich the performance.

performer, Costas Hadjis and his band of six talented
musicians, have been invited to join the European Festival.
Costas Hadjis and his collaborators will present a retrospection
of the successful and long lasting career of this exceptional
composer and singer. During these concerts the audience
will enjoy all his great hits. Maria Hadjidi and the
Javara Brothers will be joining Costas Hadjis.

The Academic State Folkloric Ensemble Russians may be
proud of the Bolshoi Ballet, but they are also, equally
proud of the 'BERIOZKA' Group of Traditional Dances.This
group is considered to be the most important of its'
kind and it is a big moment for the European Festival
to present such a significant group. The group will
come to Cyprus with its' full dynamic of 53 dancers
so as to present many samples of the Russian people's
great tradition, during the two-hour show. The group
will bring along their full range of costumes.

The National Academic "Bolshoi" Ballet Theatre
of the Republic of Belarus will give a dynamic in presence
the cycle of events of the E.F.L. Following the Spartacus
performance that took place this summer at the Limassol
Garden Theatre we will have the opportunity to organise
a performance of the Youth Dance Company as well as
the lead ballet performers. The Youth academy is notorious
for its very high acceptance standards and the tough
challenges. The 40 young members of the theatre will
perform in Cyprus extracts from the classic ballets
"Swan Lake", "Don Quixote", "Esmeralda",
"La Sylehide" etc.

The Boy's Choir of the Glinka Choir College is one of
the oldest professional musical groups in Russia. It
goes back to 1479, when by the highest order of the
Great Prince Ivan the 3rd, a choir of young singers
was added to the choir of the Tsar's singing Deacons,
which was founded three years earlier. The Glinka Choir
College itself is an independent educational establishment
with a regular system of education. The education term
is 11 years, and alongside with general subjects of
standard for Russia secondary education the students
are taught Choir Class, Piano, Vocal training, Musical
Literature, Harmony, Arrangement, an additional musical
instrument, Composition e.t.c. The boy's choir toured
widely. Audiences in Great Britain, Germany, Denmark,
USA, France, Switzerland, Holland, Austria, Slovenia,
Latvia were thrilled with the musical sophistication,
rich sound, imaginative programming, and emotional power
of this ensemble.

A fine example of jazz music in the E.F.L. will be presented
by the group "SPA". The group ensemble of
five musicians, specialized in jazz music is very popular
in Italy where it comes from. This band is in
great demand, with sold-out concerts and it's known
to leave audiences thrilled. With clearly "jazz"
instruments like the saxophone, the cello, the trumpet,
the base and the piano, the band promises amazing concerts.

and amazing "cultural ambassadors" of South
America. An authentic Latin-American group of excellent
musicians from Paraguay have promised us an unforgettable
evening. Through the intense dance rhythms, with their
repertoire and the special musical instruments like
the Paraguayan harp, the congas, the bongos, the cajones
and their guitars, played like only Latinos know how
to, "Los Esplendidos Paraguayos" will give

This ballet carries one of the greatest traditions of
the Russian dance School. After appearing all around
the world and participating in the most important dance
festivals, the Bolshoi of Bella Russia has been established
as one of the world's most important ballets. Choreographer
Valentin Elizariev has been the Artistic Director of
this ballet for thirty years, creating and choreographing
the most important works of classic repertoire and much
more. The ballet has uniquely presented works such as
Spartacus, Don Quixote, Romeo and Juliet, Carmina Burana
and Carmen, gaining great critiques. For the European
Festival, they chose to present Carmen, with a group
of 40 dancers, so as to fit to the small stages of our
winter theatres.

He is one of the three most important and eminent composers
of the Greek 'entehni'- artistic music. Along with Mikis
Theodorakis and Manos Hadjidakis, they composed the
most important songs and most beautiful melodies of
the last century. A dedication to this great composer
is a great moment for the European Festival. This dedication
becomes even more important when an orchestra like the
Ossipov Orchestra of Traditional Instruments and the
Diastasis Choir perform it. The songs that will be performed
have already been chosen and they represent the composer's
brilliant course.
