Papadopoulos & Schinis Productions Ltd was established in 1986, in order to fill the gap, which existed then in Cyprus, the organization of high-quality cultural events, as well as the development and introduction of these events into the social structure of the local society.

The main objective of the Company has always been to present and stage events in Cyprus, of a high standard and always respecting the audiences. And in order to achieve this is necessary to invite groups and artists either from Cyprus or from other countries who would present various forms of art of high quality.

The organization and the presentation of these performances must be of similar high quality in order to achieve this objective.

During the fifteen years of its existence, the Company has organized and presented opera productions, classical and modern dancing performances, rock and pop concerts, children's festivals, art exhibitions, symphony orchestra and other classical music concerts, folklore music and dance events etc.

Another important objective of the company was to present Cypriot and Greek art to other countries. And during these 15 years of existence the company has succeed to a large extend to achieve this objective by organizing events in many countries of Europe, the Middle east and the United States.

In Cyprus, the Company works in close cooperation and organizes events for the Government of Cyprus, most municipalities, cultural centers of other countries and those of various banking and insurance organizations, various charities and other private companies and individuals.

Having developed into a self-sufficient entity, the Company owns and operates its own sound, projection and lighting equipment as well as workshops for the fabrication of stages, sets and props. And this is made possible by the employment of skilled technicians from Cyprus and sometimes specialists from overseas.

OPERAS
A milestone in the cultural life of Cyprus has been the successful planning, production and promotion of the "AIDA" Opera of the Bolshoi Theatre of Moscow, organized by the company in 1999. The project was part of the Paphos Aphrodite Festival and it was under the total supervision and production of Papadopoulos & Schinis Productions Ltd. Following the triumphant event of AIDA, the company organized in the year 2000 the opera "Barber of Seville" by the Mussorgsky Opera, which once more achieved tremendous success. For the 100 years from Guiseppe Verdi's death, which was celebrated worldwide, the company presented a festival called "Viva Verdi" which included "La Traviata", "Requiem" and a Gala Concert by the New Opera of Moscow, which was considered to be the "performance of the year".

BALLET SHOWS
Among the several ballet productions that the company organized through the years, the successful performance of the Kirov Ballet in Cyprus (during the festival "Great Ballets") presenting "Swan Lake" should be considered as a benchmark. The Bolshoi Theatre with
"Don Quixote" accompanied by their orchestra gave a spectacular performance confirming the high standards that the company has set for organizing its Festivals. The summer of 2002 could be identified as the summer for great ballets in Cyprus. The Bolshoi Theatre Company presented "Giselle" and the Maurice Bejart Ballet gave an outstanding performance.
